After producing a wide range of smart home appliances, Xiaomi is now looking to produce electric cars. Xiaomi’s plan to produce an all-electric passenger car, called the MS11, is an interesting development in the automotive industry.

While the MS11’s driving range is still unknown, leaked information suggests that the car will be powered by a 101kWh lithium-ion battery rated at 726.7V and 139Ah. The battery label also shows the ability to fast charge at 800 volts, which can reduce charging times compared to competing 400-volt packs. To estimate the driving range of the Xiaomi MS11 electric car, a comparison can be made with the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan, which has a 108.4 kWh battery and an estimated range between 446 and 563 kilometers. However, it is important to keep in mind that various factors such as weight, aerodynamics, driving conditions and the performance of vehicle systems can affect the driving range of an electric vehicle. Therefore, it is better to wait for official information or independent tests to determine the actual driving range of the MS11. As for Xiaomi’s entry into the automotive industry, there was early speculation about possible partnerships with automakers such as Great Wall Motors and BAIC Group. However, these collaborations have not been confirmed. In March 2023, Xiaomi CEO Li Jun said that the company’s car business is progressing well, and several prototypes have completed winter testing, and mass production is expected to begin in the first half of next year.

Recently, four prototypes of the Xiaomi MS11 electric car have been spotted simultaneously on the streets of Xinjiang, possibly for preliminary tests. It is expected that the production of this electric car will start in the first quarter of 2024.
